Each year the Northern Rockies Fire Science Network (NRFSN) provides the Joint Fire Science Program with an annual report (docx) summarizing its activities and achievements, and three Impact Statements that describe activities around topics of focus.

Overview
In FY2025, NRFSN included over 1,500 members from...
...federal, tribal, and state land management agencies, research institutions, private organizations, NGOs, and local governments.
We engaged with these members through field trips, workshops, webinars, written products, online resources, social media, and conferences.

Field Trips and Workshops
In FY25, NRFSN co-hosted an Emerging Science Workshop with the Northwest Fire Science Consortium. In May 2025, NRFSN co-hosted the 2025 Fire and Fuels Monitoring Workshop. This hybrid workshop covered the basics of fuels and fire monitoring, with a virtual component followed by field days hosted on the Yakama and Flathead Reservations.

NRFSN coordinated or co-hosted seven webinars:
- Interdisciplinary understanding and prediction of wildfires
- Spatial and temporal trends in causes of human-ignited wildfires
- Impacts of prescribed fire on drought vulnerability and short-term growth of ponderosa pine and Douglas fir
- Pre- and post-fire impacts of beaver dams and beaver dam analogs
- Behave7 for Fire Analysts
- Behave7 for Prescribed Fire Planning
- Site conditions constrain the influence of fire on regeneration of whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis)

NRFSN maintained 15 individually curated Hot Topic pages, ranging from aspen restoration and management to wildland firefighter health.

NRFSN added 274 resources to its databases this year.
