In partnership with scientists and managers, we develop and host webinars to provide a forum for sharing information about specific topics or scientific resources in support of fire and fuels management.
We also maintain a broad Northern Rockies-relevant Recorded Media Database that contains webinars and presentations from multiple sources and can be searched by presenter, date, topic, and ecosystem.
This webinar, recorded March 15, 2023, looks at how consecutive fires in a relatively-short time frame impact forest recovery. Join researchers Kristin Braziunas (Technical University of Munich, Germany) and Tyler Hoecker (Northwest Climate Adaptation Science Center) as they discuss recent… read more

Weather plays an integral role in fire management due to the direct and indirect effects it has on fire behavior. However, fire managers may not use all information available to them during the decision-making process, instead utilizing simplifying decision rules called heuristics, i.e. mental "… read more
High-severity fires create lasting effects on landscape vegetation mosaics. Recent increases in fire activity and severity highlight the need to understand the long-term effects of high-severity fire, including interactions with subsequent fires. This webinar presents results from a study that… read more
Climate warming and increasing frequency and severity of wildfires have the potential to undermine forest resilience to wildfires through changes in seed availability and post-fire climate. This webinar described results from a study in which researchers quantified the impacts of wildfires on… read more
