Fire is a natural element of the landscape and thus, the environment would be different as we know it without its presence. Fire is accepted as a vital force in shaping biomes and, to some extent, has allowed us to persist through time and became 'humans.' Fire can be a controversial topic because we can benefit from its role as a key driver of natural ecosystems and as a tool to utilise in our daily lives, yet its effects on human life and property can be catastrophic. Thus, it has been frequently stated that 'fire can be a good servant or a bad master.'
